The time has come! R

🌷 Spring Cleaning & Safety Reminder 🌷

Spring cleaning season is here—and it’s a great time to make your home safer, not just cleaner.

🚪 Declutter & clear paths
Getting rid of unused items doesn’t just free up space—it helps keep hallways, stairways, and exits clear. In an emergency—whether it’s a structure fire, gas leak, furnace malfunction, or another call—blocked pathways can slow down both occupants trying to get out and firefighters trying to get in. Keeping these areas accessible can make all the difference when seconds count.

🏠 Have a plan
Take a few minutes to talk through an emergency escape plan with your household. Know at least two ways out, and choose a simple meeting spot outside—like a mailbox, tree, or light post—so everyone knows where to go.

🔥 Quick safety checks
Check your smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. Make sure alarms are working and extinguishers are accessible, the gauge is in the green, and they’re ready if needed (not expired or blocked).

🌱 Watch where the grass goes
Blowing grass clippings into the street may seem harmless, but it creates a slick surface—especially for motorcycles and bicycles. That’s not just a bike—that’s someone’s family member, friend, or neighbor. Please keep clippings out of the roadway.

A little effort now goes a long way in keeping your home—and our community—safe.

If you have questions about home safety, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Stay safe,
Neversink Fire Company 🚒

Happy Birthday, Chief! 🎉

Today we’re wishing our Chief a great birthday.

Between calls, time at the station, and everything that needs handled behind the scenes, he’s always putting in work for Neversink. A lot of it doesn’t get seen, but it all helps keep the department moving.

We appreciate the time and effort he continues to give to Station 14.

Help us wish him a happy birthday! 🎂

Happy Birthday, Chie

This afternoon around 14:00 hours, Neversink Fire Company was dispatched to Palmyra Borough (Box 1-01) for a reported multi-dwelling structure fire on North Chestnut Street.

Engine 14 responded in place of the Rescue Engine and assisted crews operating on scene. Units worked together to bring the incident under control, with crews remaining on location for an extended period before returning available.

Shortly after clearing the fire, our volunteers were dispatched to North Cornwall Township for a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on Chestnut Street, continuing a busy afternoon for Station 14.

Incidents like today highlight the importance of strong mutual aid partnerships—and the commitment of volunteers who respond from work, home, and everywhere in between.
